Info on Petroleum engineering?

I would like to know what it takes to become a petroleum engineer. Im currently living in canada grade 9 student and i would rlly like to get into this career and work over seas in Angola. I want to know what classes and courses ill need to take, and how many years ill need in university(thinking of masters degree). I also want to know how much they get paid an hour and yearly.
